  INTRODUCTION:

  The ideal Collections and Cash Applications Manager has Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or payments industry experience in an international company using multiple (9+) billing platforms. The Collections and Cash Applications Manager will be responsible for monitoring the accounts receivable aging, ensuring timely and complete collections through a team of 2-3 collectors located in multiple countries, and applying cash timely and correctly. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Billing and Collections.

  WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage a team of 3-5 collections/cash applications specialists using multiple software programs (including Workday, Recurly, Salesforce Billing, Chargebee, and proprietary systems) to ensure customer balances are being collected timely and risks are escalated

  • Coordinate with Client Management and third-party collectors to maximize collections

  • Issue customer refunds timely, in coordination with billing and accounts payable

  • Participate in the month-end close process to minimize Unapplied Cash and ensure receivables are accurately recorded.

  • Partner with Billing to report on and minimize bad debt.

  • Monitor and report Collections metrics to leadership, including Controller and CFO, and other stakeholders.

  • Work with Billing team to answer customer inquiries related to invoices

  • Provide audit-quality support for collections and accounts receivable testing

  • Develop Collections targets in conjunction with leadership to minimize DSO.

  • Support project to migrate billing activities to reduce the number of billing platforms, including providing feedback to the development and Revenue Operations teams and updating procedures accordingly.

  • Ensure team members are adequately trained and incentivized to achieve Company collections targets.

  • Develop team members to help them meet their career goals.

  WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 10 years’ experience in collections and cash application ideally in a high-volume and multi-platform environment

  • 4+ years’ supervising/managing a high-functioning, global team

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles per US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Recurring services (SaaS, payments, etc.) and/or fitness industry experience

  • Large ERP system experience (Oracle, SAP)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with external customers.

  • Strong organizational and administration skills, with ability to anticipate business needs quickly

  • Ability to work in multiple systems and quickly move from one system to another.

  • Attention to detail and aptitude to work with a volume of data processing.

  • Excellent collaboration skills and a one-team mindset

  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks

  AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE:

  • Chargebee, Recurly, or similar subscription billing platform experience

  • Workday ERP experience

  • Familiarity with indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.)

  • Experience understanding accounting system functionality and working with developers to optimize and/or create new functionality

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or related field

  • Experience with payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries

  • Private equity background

  Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $62,000 -- $95,000 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additiona l forms of compensation such as bonuse s and commissions.
