What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Contact customers via phone, fax, email, or standard letter to bring accounts to a current status
- Reconcile and apply customer payments posted on account
- Monitor the status of delinquent accounts and prioritize tasks
- Research customer inquiries related to billing concerns and misapplied payments
- Process payments from delinquent customers and negotiate payment arrangements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2 years of collections or relevant experience required
- High School diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of collections transactions and processes
- Ability to accurately document actions taken on assigned accounts
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional experience in collections or related field
- Certification in collections or related area
