      Description

      Position Summary
      Supervise, direct, and coordinate all cash collection activities for the enterprise for institutional loans, private loans, cash payment plan collections, past-due account collections for all inactive student accounts. Serve as the liaison to institutional loan servicers and third party collection agencies in managing accounts. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in regards to collection activities.

      Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Manage and monitor collection activities of collectors in meeting weekly/monthly collection goals.
      • Generate ideas to improve collections, create action plans and execute on them
      • Stay current and manage oversight of all HEOA Disclosure and Regulation Z requirements including Truth in Lending and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau requirements applicable to collection activities.
      • Manage and prepare weekly/monthly activity reports, collections reports, and other reports as required to provide collections results to upper management.
      • Manage on-going evaluation and revision of collection practices to set appropriate collection benchmarks for collection team.
      • Responsible for calling, e-mailing and/or sending letters to in-active students with past due balances to obtain payments.
      • Ensures that collection goals are met each month and strives to exceed this goal.
      • Ensures the proper number of collection activities are made per day/week to meet account collection goals. Key Success

      • Strong interpersonal and positive relationship management skills. Sensitivity to students and families of diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
      • Excellent verbal communication skills
      • Knowledge of collection rules and regulations including HEOA regulations, Regulation Z, Truth in Lending Disclosures, and IEC collection rules.
      • Ability to analyze numbers, specifically student ledger account.

      Qualifications


      Essential Skills And Experience (skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, licenses)

      • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • 2-3 years of supervisory/management experience desired.
      • Collections experience in the career college environment is preferred.
      • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Ability to work on a multiple projects and ability to prioritize workload.
      • Good with numbers.
      • Ability to work with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Spreadsheet and Word.
