      POSITION: FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE LEVEL I

      DEPARTMENT: FIELD OPERATIONS, METER READING

      LOCATION: DORCHESTER, MA

      STARTING RATE OF PAY: $39.86 per hour

      REMARKS:

      Under General supervision, contacts customers by telephone or field visit to collect required payment of deposit or delinquent accounts; accept partial payments and grant credit extensions under prescribed limitations; obtain meter readings and customer information pertaining to new and previous customers; discontinue self contained meters up to and including 480 volts; investigate and explain to customers that bills are correct or incorrect in respect to metering and meter reading; restore customer service when directed; perform clerical duties and use computers in connection with this work. Will, where appropriate, be assigned a take home vehicle for purposes of direct reporting to customer premises.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      1. Valid Massachusetts driving license.

      2. Must have a minimum of eight months experience as a Meter Reader and must have demonstrated the ability to read meters proficiently.

      3. Must have knowledge of electricity, electric meters, meter appurtenances, and be able to discontinue and restore same.

      4. Must be neat, accurate, tactful, courteous, and be able to exercise self control in dealing with customers.

      5. Must be familiar with Company billing and accounting procedures. Must be capable of analytical reasoning and convincing explanations.

      6. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

      7. Must have a history of safe driving habits.

      8. Must be able to work in all weather conditions, and at times, for extended periods of time.

      **PLEASE NOTE:

      • These positions are being posted specifically for work in the Customer Operations Organization, to fill a temporary need as we transition to AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure). Employees entering into these positions must remain in the Customer Operations Organization for the duration of the project. (Unless mutually agreed to by the Company and the Local)
      • At the conclusion of the project any AMI Project positions within the Customer Operations Group will be eliminated.
      • At the conclusion of the project, successful candidates may be offered continued employment with the Company based on job openings at that time.
      • At the conclusion of the project, any open positions, if qualified by fitness and ability, will be offered based on seniority and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
      • Any reduction in forces will be done in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
