- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks accurately.
- Follow project specifications, Quality Control program documents, and understand Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Perform various types of welds such as GTAW, SMAW, FACW, and GMAW based on project needs.
- Work with materials including stainless steel, various types of chrome, and carbon pipe.
- Select proper fillers for welding tasks based on welding procedure specifications.
- Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
- Assist pipe fitters with pulling measurements, prepping materials to weld and install, and other tasks to complete the job.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
- Maintain physical strength and stamina, using arms, hands, and legs fully; push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
- Perform welding tasks repetitively and continuously for several-hour intervals.
- Considerable experience welding GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW.
- Must pass a vertical welding test.
- Experience with carbon steel pipe and stainless pipe.
- Experience with Flux Core, Mig, Tig, and Sub-Arc welding.
- Ability to pass an Unlimited 6G pipe test.
- Pipe welding certification preferred. Please request a copy from a former employer.
- 1+ year of combo pipe welding experience (3g vertical, 4g vertical tests).
- Field welders need to pass the Unlimited 6G pipe test.
- Pipe-fitting experience preferred.
- Purge welding experience is a plus.

Work Environment
This role requires working in various job sites in the valley, with a 10-hour shift schedule that includes Saturdays. Expect to work 50-60 hours per week, performing physically demanding tasks in diverse weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
