As our Commercial and SSC People Capability Consultant, you will be accountable for the technical curriculum and regulatory requirements across Sainsbury’s Commercial (Food and General Merchandise) as well as other Store Support Centre (SSC) divisions across the business.
What you'll do
In your role, you will be accountable for managing our commercial curriculum which defines the current and future needs for our colleagues. You will ensure we have effective training provisions for Commercial and SSC (store support centre) divisions that align with our business strategy. As a great communicator, you will be able to influence and challenge at a senior level to ensure that simple, consistent, effective learning solutions are identified and implemented.
With an eye for detail, you will be responsible for the Academy Programmes, assessing their effectiveness, and prioritising spend according to business need. Whilst delivering existing courses, you will evolve the Commercial Academies to meet the needs of the business now and in the future. Working closely with stakeholders, you will identify skill gaps and training needs, designing and implementing targeted learning and development programmes to address these gaps. You will also collaborate with HR partners and business leaders to ensure that effective talent management strategies are in place, supporting the recruitment, retention, and development of high-performing individuals.
Who you are
You are a learning professional with a demonstrated track record in setting, implementing, and evaluating learning strategies aligned with business goals. With your ability to think long-term and proactively deliver sustainable learning outcomes, you excel in navigating environments of rapid change and ambiguity, advocating for change. Excellent project management skills coupled with balanced decision-making sets you up for success in your role. Your strong commercial acumen and the in-depth knowledge of Sainsbury's and its brands that you will learn will enable you to effectively partner with stakeholders at all levels and establish strong relationships. Additionally, your expertise in learning principles, excellent communication skills, and leadership capabilities position you to lead the People Capability team, drive impact through the management of the Commercial and Food Technical Curriculum and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
