The Startup Banking team is part of J.P. Morgan's Commercial Bank in its Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries group. In this role as a Portfolio Banker (PB), you will be the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of accounts and will work both independently, and as part of a team, to deliver our comprehensive solutions to clients. Portfolio Bankers are required to have deep working knowledge of our solutions, including, but not limited to Credit, Treasury Services, International Banking, Commercial Card and Chase Merchant Solutions. The PB will interact and liaise with other areas of the organization including credit underwriters, AML/KYC officers, client service associates (CSAs), and treasury management officers.
As a Commercial Banker, Startup Banking, Middle Market Banking, Vice President within the Startup Banking team of J.P. Morgan's Commercial Bank, you will be the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of accounts. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients. Your role will involve deep working knowledge of our solutions, including Credit, Treasury Services, International Banking, Commercial Card, and Chase Merchant Solutions. You will also collaborate with our business development team to support the startup ecosystem and provide early-stage clients with banking services.

Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee on-going client relationship management and responsiveness, including face-to-face meetings at the client company, as well identifying opportunities to deepen the existing relationship. PB is also responsible for documenting these meetings with call reports and maintaining CRM system updates.
* Collaborate with our Credit and Treasury team assisting with processing credit requests.
* Ensure the client’s operational needs are serviced in a timely and high-quality manner. The Portfolio Banker will also have responsibility for annual coverage review of product sets and delivering the products and services of the firm to clients.
* Provide oversight, escalation and resolution of any AML-identified compliance issues, as well as any reputational or negative media issues, in coordination with MMBSI management and the appropriate escalation forum. Supporting KYC officer in completion of AML/KYC due diligence including approving DDF forms that reflect true relationship knowledge.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
* 5+ years of banking, portfolio management with a focus on business relationships
* Strong investigatory, due diligence and risk analysis skills
* Strong creative solution and problem solving abilities.
* Familiarity with startup ecosystems
* Able to work independently multi-task and handle a sizeable account load
* Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
* Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree preferred with banking experience
* Strong client-facing skills; excellent verbal and written communication abilities
* Previous treasury experience and ability to mobilize internal networks and resources. Diligent, detail-oriented and thorough
* Self-directed, team player, proactive, and creative; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done
