      Job Description

      Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) is part of the Commercial Bank and provides lending services to multiple business units across the firm and around the world. The organization provides end-to-end lending services including loan documentation; closing and funding; payment and fee processing; syndication loan trade processing; credit administration; collateral perfection and management; customer service; construction management.

      Commercial Banking – Wholesale Lending Services – Executive Director

      This senior leadership role will report directly to the global head of Loan & Agency and be responsible for leading a sizeable lending services organization (circa. 120 employees) based in our Global Corporate Centre in Bangalore. Primarily, the group is responsible for a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities in relation to syndicated credit facilities where the firm participates as a lender. This highly visible role leads core production teams that are required to provide high-quality service to multiple internal and external parties including admin agents, issuing banks and borrowers in a complex, dynamic, multi-faceted and deadline driven lending environment.

      Primary responsibilities include:

      • Leading 3 core cross-LOB Productions teams responsible for Deal Set-Up/Funding, Loan Servicing, and Letter of Credit support functions
      • Senior oversight of productivity and quality, acting as senior escalation and BAU point of contact for CB and CIB business partners and stakeholders including deal teams, Credit Risk and internal Legal
      • Building and cultivating strong relationships with external parties, market vendors and industry associations, operating as an ambassador for WLS in the GCC and more broadly
      • Maintaining strong oversight of the risk & control environment; representing WLS in various firm-wide risk forums, audit/CCOR reviews, and operational risk deep dives
      • Driving connectivity, partnership, and engagement with WLS teams globally as part of a senior leadership team
      • Delivering a diverse and inclusive work environment that positively champions equity and mobility
      • Driving a deep change culture by continuously identifying, embracing, and executing process standardization and optimization opportunities
      • Partnering with Product Innovation & Change Management and Operational Excellence teams to implement automation opportunities and strategic solutions (workflow, tools, reporting) to reduce risk and deliver efficiencies
      • Identifying opportunities to grow existing and develop new teams in GCC locations
      • Reviewing and leading org structure change to optimize operating models globally
      • Designing and delivering high-quality, insightful MIS to drive a culture where risk, escalation, capacity/resourcing and other critical decisions are driven by quantitative and qualitative data
      • Engaging in client service priorities with a focus on measuring and improving client satisfaction

      Qualifications & key requirements

      • 15+ years financial services experience gained at a top tier investment/commercial bank
      • Significant experience leading large and complex operations
      • Experience managing multiple leaders at Executive Director and Vice President level
      • 5+ years syndicated loan product experience preferred but not a prerequisite
      • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal qualities
      • Exceptional communication skills
      • Fortitude, resilience, and determination to lead complex change initiatives
      • Awareness of operational risks occurring throughout the transaction lifecycle
      • Proven track record in thinking/acting strategically to influence complex business decisions globally
      • Results driven; ability to lead/drive execution; methodical approach to identifying and solving issues
      • Aptitude to ensure timely group delivery and execution of all daily controls/adherence to KPI targets
      • Ability to foster a collaborative team environment within and across functional organizations
      • Confidence to present key updates at senior management forums and executive committees
      • Excellent organizational and influencing skills to drive and implement change across teams & regions
      • Experience developing high-performance teams through continuous training and dynamic coaching
      • Track record of championing a diverse and inclusive work environment across geographical locations
