      POSITION PURPOSE

      Responsible for analyzing credit worthiness for commercial loan applicants.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

      1. Analyze business & personal tax returns, financial statements, and identify trends and concerns. Work closely with assigned loan officers and borrowers to understand & mitigate credit issues for both commercial loan underwriting and annual review analysis

      2. Prepare financial reports using spreading software

      3. Provide informed professional opinions to loan officers regarding applicants financial/credit status, suggest loan structures, and support the lending process

      4. Prepare spreadsheets and detailed written reports to be presented in loan committee meetings for approval for both new and renewal loans

      5. Track loan covenants to ensure compliance & complete other duties as assigned

      6. Work closely with assigned loan officers in a team environment.

      7. Works a regular and predictable schedule.

      PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

      1. Analyses are accurate and completed in a timely manner

      2. Performance conforms to policies, procedures, and regulation

      2. Good working relations and communications exist with Credit Union personnel and with management.

      3. Loan review and covenant tracking completed on time and in an accurate manner

      QUALIFICATIONS

      EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Four year degree in finance or related field or equivalent work experience required.

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge of lending services, policies, and procedures.

      Familiarity with general loan documentation.

      EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three to five years of similar or related experience, particularly in a financial environment.

      SKILLS/ABILITIES: Good organizational skills, accurate and attentive to detail.

      Excellent analystical skills

      Strong verbal and written communication skills.

      Able to use computer related applications

      Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

      Good math skills

      Able to evaluate risk for loan underwriting.

      PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

      FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

      TALKING: One must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

      AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

      REPETITIVE MOTION: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

      AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

      PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      NONE: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).

      MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

      REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.

      MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills and to use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs.

      LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.

      Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and use adjectives and adverbs.

      Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
