Job Title: Commercial HVAC Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician responsible for servicing rooftop units, compressors, walk-in coolers, freezers at restaurants, boilers, and more. The facilities serviced include restaurants, high-rise condos, office buildings, and various other commercial settings. This role covers the north side of Chicago up to the Wisconsin border and out to Elgin. Technicians can go directly to the service location from home and will have a company vehicle!

Responsibilities

• Service and repair rooftop units, compressors, walk-in coolers, freezers, and boilers.
• Work on HVAC systems in restaurants, high-rise condos, office buildings, and other commercial facilities.
• Troubleshoot and maintain commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and travel as required.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance on various HVAC systems.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• 1-3 years of commercial refrigeration experience
• NATE Certification
• Universal EPA Certification
• Proficient in troubleshooting rooftop units
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read repair manuals and wiring diagrams

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
• Works well independently and with others
• Good communication skills
• Organized with attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of HVAC tools, materials, operation, maintenance, and repair

Work Environment

This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, with the ability to bend, crawl, reach, push, pull, climb, and stretch as needed. Technicians must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required. The job involves exposure to various weather conditions, temperatures, smells, noises, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts. Weekend and night work may be necessary on occasion.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
