      The Commercial internship will provide a thorough overview of UMB’s Commercial Banking line of business and to allow learning in the financial services industry. UMB Commercial Banking & Lending provides comprehensive solutions to commercial organizations of all sizes. Our corporate finance offerings range from checking and depository, treasury management, commercial lending, merchant payment services and healthcare services. The program will provide interns with a comprehensive and practical understanding of the commercial banking industry. Interns will be exposed to various departments, including but not limited to, sales, marketing, finance, and operations. The internship program aims to provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of the commercial banking sector while cultivating their research, analytic, and interpersonal skills.

      This internship runs from May to September of 2024

      How you will spend your time:

      • Information Interviews; meeting with experienced bankers for one on one’s to learn more about the role of a banker and the various aspects of the commercial banking industry
      • Gain insight into business drivers, approach to managing portfolios, identifying industry trends, and best risk management practices
      • Conduct and present various market research projects focused on Commercial Banking
      • Connect with the Credit Analysis team to gain foundational knowledge around Commercial loan applications and approvals
      • Attend various meetings to be exposed to all lines of businesses within UMB
      • Work within group assignments as assigned
      • Adhoc responsibilities

      We are excited to speak with you if:

      • Have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate education focused in business, finance, accounting, or any related major
      • Demonstrated strong academic performance of at least a 2.5 overall GPA
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team
      • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word

      Compensation Range:

      Minimum: $25,640.00 - Maximum: $59,330.00

      The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
