      COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER

      IMT Insurance is seeking to fill the position of Commercial Lines Underwriter. In this position, you will work within a team to underwrite commercial lines renewals, amendments and cancellations. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in order to maintain positive relationships with agents and meet departmental profit and growth objectives.       A DAY IN THE LIFE

      • Consistently provide effective, timely and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
      • Responsible for telephone and written communication inquiries on items including, but not limited to statuses, billing, eligibility, and amendment quotations, based on established guidelines.
      • Underwrite and manage workload on amendments within an assigned territory.
      • Underwrite and manage workload on commercial lines renewals and cancellations.
      • Obtain information needed to properly evaluate renewals, amendments and cancellations.
      • Assist with processing amendments, renewals and cancellations.
      • Responsible for file documentation.
      • Assure policy coverage, issuance and cancellations are within state regulations.
      • Assist with reviewing loss control reports and audits returned to underwriting.
      • Determine which items to refer for review based on established guidelines.
      • Obtain or confirm underwriting information, order surveys, motor vehicle reports, claim reports and other documentation.
      • Assist team of underwriters with their assignments

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • College Degree or 2-4 years of equivalent experience.
      • Ability to independently solve problems.
      • Ability to work effectively with others, both internal and external.
      • Self-starter including strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
      • Ability to accurately key information for processing of all business.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with groups and individuals using all forms of communication.
      • Ability to use computerized rating and policy issuance systems, Microsoft Office Products and function in a personal computer network environment.
      • Initiative to learn requirements of position including knowledge of regulatory requirements and underwriting resources such as ISO and NCCI.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships.
      • Adaptable and willing to learn new skills as the role and industry changes.

      The salary range for this position is $42,000.00 - $61,000.00

      Starting salary and level of position will depend on level of experience
