      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Gathers information from loan officers and applicants as needed for commercial (real estate and non-real estate) loans.

      Analyzes and screens loan requests for all types of business purpose loans. Presents underwriting information to Commercial Loan Officers or the Business Loan Committee as requested.

      Manages large or complex commercial loans, and counsels loan members on loan management and beneficial financial strategies.

      Develops new customer prospects and business for the Credit Union.

      Reviews new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the Credit Union and makes recommendations to management when necessary.

      Analyzes loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions, and financial institution files.

      Prepares spread sheets, reports, credit proposals, annual reviews, loan memorandums, summaries, and opinions for Credit Union Management on new, renewal and existing loans.

      Oversees and manages financial information files to generate current reports, statements, accounts receivable and other information on member accounts.

      Performs credit inquiries for the Credit Union as requested.

      Establishes, reviews and updates new and existing loan files for the Credit Union on a regular basis.

      Provides technical advice and assistance to Business Service officers as needed.

      Prepare necessary documents for approval; ensure documents are in compliance with Credit Union policies and legal requirements.

      Develop material and make presentations for Loan Officers and the Business Loan Committee, as required.

      Maintain good public relations within the community by participating in civic, community, and professional activities.

      Strengthen existing relationships by keeping in regular contact with members and developing a knowledge of their industry and business.

      Visit property sites to include progression of construction and/or examination of present structure.

      Assist with special projects as needed (i.e., marketing, presentations, strategic planning, etc.)

      Assure the highest standards for member satisfaction through the timely resolution of member service issues, complaints, or problems.

      Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.

      Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior and performance).

      Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

      Work cooperatively with others.

      All other duties as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting business purpose loans, specifically commercial real estate loans. Must have a high-level ability to read and understand tax returns and financial statements and perform cash flow and debt coverage analysis.

      Qualifications and Requirements – Individual must possess the knowledge, skills and ability required to execute the essential functions in a satisfactory manner.

      Language – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals and use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

      Mathematical – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

      Reasoning – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

      Computer – Ability to operate related computer applications including Word, Excel and email. Proficient typing skills. Ability to operate other business equipment including adding machine, coin and money counting machines and telephone. Knowledge of Summit Spectrum.
