      Eastern Underwriting Center is seeking a Renewal Program Underwriter for Commercial Insurance.


      The Underwriter contributes to the achievement of corporate goals relating to growth, profit, renewal retention, service, and producer/client management for Inland Marine coverages.

      Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to:

      • Providing rating and issuance instructions including appropriate forms, coverages, and premiums.
      • Documenting underwriting analysis information in the electronic file; ensuring electronic file integrity
      • Review renewals and apply appropriate strategies.
      • Gather and analyze change requests then complete the endorsement book/issue instructions as necessary.
      • Adhere to all jurisdictional compliance documentation standards and ensure all underwriting documentation is complete.

      Qualifications

      Competencies:

      • Strong communication, multitasking and organizational skills.
      • Must demonstrate: Math aptitude, strong business acumen, critical thinking skills which lead to confident decision making, familiarity with or ability to learn the reference manuals.
      • Willingness to learn the electronic systems, underwriting principles, policy forms and proficient in Word and Excel.
      • Ability to learn quickly, prioritizes work, and performs within time constraints.

      Education & Experience:

      • Minimum High school degree or equivalent.
      • Experience with Inland Marine coverages is a plus
