      The role
      As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll join our Naval Nuclear Commercial Team, providing support to operations at Devonport Royal Dockyard where we are a key strategic partner to our customers, the MoD and the Royal Navy.

      Day to day, you’ll participate as a key member of the commercial team to provide commercial expertise and governance to internal and external stakeholders for tenders, contract reviews/management, inter/intra requests, processes, policies and commercial risks.

      • Oversee the production of change orders to a Qualifying Defence Contract (QDC) together with gathering and assessing robust evidence to support contract change
      • Interact with stakeholders and work to develop positive customer relationships in order to represent the company to negotiate price, terms and scope
      • Actively communicate and embed commercial guidance and expertise, initiatives, policies and procedures across the business
      • Provide advice and drafting in relation to client and supplier terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with all internal processes

      This role is full time - 35 hours and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

      Essential experience of the Commercial Specialist:

      • Significant commercial experience in robust management of large and complex contracts, bids and change initiatives in a regulated environment
      • Demonstrable evidence of developing effective customer relationships and confident at negotiating independently within agreed delegations
      • Attention to detail with the ability to identify commercial risks, propose steps to mitigate, and communicate effectively.
      • Working knowledge of MoD contract terms – desirable


      Qualifications for the Commercial Specialist:

      • Educated to degree level with relevant degree (ideally Business or Law) or equivalent qualification or relevant experience – desirable

      The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
