Job Description

Inspect and assess damage to heavy trucks, trailers, buses, and RVs at repair facilities, customer location, campgrounds , or remotely .
Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard software (e.g., Mitchell, Audatex, etc. ) and communicate repair estimate information to customers, repair facilities and claim representatives as required .
Communicate effectively with policyholders to explain the appraisal process and answer questions regarding damage assessments
Review and interpret repair invoices, photos, and supplemental estimates
Ensure compliance with insurance policies, procedures, and provincial regulations
Provide expert advice on repair vs. replacement decisions and total loss evaluations
Review appraisals from approved vendors
Negotiate with repair facilities on repair plan processes
Re-inspect repaired units for quality of service and cost control measure .
Evaluate actual cash value and sometimes replacement cost value of units declared a total loss and take proactive steps to control storage and rental vehicle costs.
Adherence to dispatch needs and fulfillment of claim investigation and resolution in the field.
Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation .
Hours of operation can include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve the customer experience, the claims handling processes and financial outcomes for the business
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance appraisal accuracy and customer satisfaction
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of vehicle damage appraisal, minimum 2 years of heavy Truck and equipment appraisal and collision repair industry experience
Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods, and estimating software
Working knowledge of Mitchell Estimating System
Prior appraisal and hands on shop experience a must .
A strong team player, strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
Experience with commercial fleet claims or specialty vehicles
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to inspection sites
Familiarity with Canadian insurance regulations and provincial guidelines

We are currently recruiting for motivated and knowledgeable Commercial Vehicle & Lifestyle Road Appraisers to service Ontario-GTA.
In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment of repairs and total loss valuations for heavy on road and off-road vehicles of various kinds. This will include but not limited to M otorhomes, RV ’s and commercial use trailers, heavy industrial equipment, heavy trucks, medium duty and tow trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATV. The assessment will be conducted in an efficient manner to control the indemnity spend and expenses without compromising the delivery of superior customer service and accuracy.
