What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Commission HVAC and refrigeration systems for new and renovated projects
- Collaborate closely with designers and contractors to ensure systems perform as designed
- Deliver high-quality commissioning reports
- Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of HVAC/refrigeration systems
- Work onsite, often requiring multi-day site work
What is Required (Qualifications):
- One of the following: 5+ years of HVAC or refrigeration field/start-up experience OR a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of commissioning experience
- Basic understanding of HVAC/refrigeration system components (e.g., RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV, controls)
- Comfortable with onsite work, including overnight travel up to 45%
- For Certified Commissioning Agent: a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years commissioning experience OR 10+ years of experience commissioning HVAC, Refrigeration, or other electrical systems
- Certification: CCP, CxA, or BCxP for Certified Commissioning Agent
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 10+ years of experience commissioning HVAC, Refrigeration, or other electrical systems
- Strong understanding of HVAC/refrigeration system components
- Certification in commissioning (CCP, CxA, or BCxP)
- Experience in a multidisciplinary design firm
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices
