Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of degree
3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and experience in project management and CVS experience for a major or complicated process preferred

Develop the CVS plan for new projects and execute all CVS activities including commissioning, validation, and start-up for all major capital projects at the site.
Coordinate site CVS activities including allocating resources, collaborating with the engineering team, leading cross-functional decision-making teams concerning project activities, facilitating the project handover process, supporting the creations of standard operating procedures, and maximizing the operational effectiveness of start-up.
Establish and manage the CVS team/Training budget for new and existing projects.
Partner with the site team to create Standard Operating Procedures and Job Aides to maximize operational effectiveness and manage the flow of documentation.
Transfer equipment knowledge and operation through formal and informal associate training
Attend or support VAT/FATs (Vendor/Factory Acceptance Tests) as needed for projects.
Work to receive all available training dollars for new projects.
Working in partnership with the Project Engineering Manager. Engineering drives the project through Engineering Checkout and the CVS Manager takes the lead through the Commissioning, Validation and Start-up Phases.
Responsible along with Central engineering managers to ensure communication paths are set up to keep all departments informed of activities and provide periodic CVS activity/status updates to project stakeholders.
Ensure all participants are executing to the master schedule from commissioning to start up inline with EWP (Engineering Work Process).
Direct activity and Associate Development – Evaluate associate performance and develop, in conjunction with associate’s plans, to challenge their potential. Ensure development plans are in place for each direct report and complete quarterly one on one conversations.

Job Description:
Commissioning Validation Startup Manager (CVS) - Reno, NV
The CVS Manager is responsible for the operational integration of new products and automation into the factory which includes execution of all CVS (Commissioning, Validation, and Start Up) activities and training of Mars Associates. Inherent to these responsibilities is the operational planning, preparation, and execution of projects working internally with other site associates and externally with Central Project Managers and the Central Engineering Team.
During the start-up of a major capital project, this position will focus on developing and executing the CVS plan and training of new associates. This will be measured by learning curve achievement and successful Project Handover completion. After the factory reaches learning curve objectives, the focus will shift toward improving the new installed processes and supporting operational sustainability. This role does have a travel requirement up to 30%.
