Job Description

- Accurately process and reconcile daily commission files and statements while building on experience and applying knowledge of commissions within a self-clearing broker-dealer.
- Perform research, interact with sponsors, Advisors and fund companies as needed to obtain statements for timely commission processing and meeting weekly commission payout timelines. Proactively seek best practices and implement process-improved commission processing methods.
- Prioritize workload and perform timely resolution of outstanding commission issues.
- Perform accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, pertinent documentation of work papers and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Understand standard contract terms and commission calculations to assist clients.
- Ability to utilize intermediate Excel skills to research questions and efficiently analyze commission transaction data.
- Provide Raving Fans customer service to clients, meeting SLAs and Cetera Service Culture service standards.
- Team player willing to pitch in as needed to complete commission processing work and accomplish service standards and SLAs.
- Communicate with fund companies and the field force, assisting Sales Representatives in resolving commission issues.
- Work on projects, using analytical skills and providing a high level of detail.
- Assist with internal/ external auditors
- Daily quality control/review of commission data
- Assist and train offshore team members
- Process weekly advisor credit card payments
- Mutual Fund/ Brokerage product setup
- 1-2 years of intermediate Microsoft Excel skills; including writing formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP formulas, and the ability to work with large worksheets containing multiple linked worksheets.
- Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and produce timely results in a fast-paced work environment.
- Capable of working well in a team environment
- Capable of exercising critical thinking skills
- Customer service experience with sound verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work overtime if requested.
- Associate technical college degree in Accounting or Administration is a plus.
- 1+ years prior experience in a Financial Institution preferred.
- 1+ year experience working with Microsoft Access including working with tables and joins to write queries.
- High School Diploma
This role is an integral part of the Commissions team, focusing on accurate processing of commission revenue and maintaining a commitment to service standards across Cetera Financial Group’s broker dealer communities. This will be a Hybrid role reporting to our El Segundo, CA office.

The salary range for this role is $42,000 - $52,000, plus competitive performance-based bonus. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation ranges may differ in differing locations due to cost of labor considerations.
