- Acts in compliance with the ONEOK Commodity Management Policy
- Markets production volume for all ONEOK's business strategies through spot and term trade agreements
- Negotiates purchase/sale transactions as required for inventory management of all ONEOK over/short positions
- Executes financial trades to manage price risk for all ONEOK business strategies and over/short positions and hedge forward margin value
- As identified, executes on other trading opportunities that create incremental value for ONEOK
- Articulates key industry issues, insights, and market outlooks
- Compiles data for historical and forward analysis
- Regularly reviews and analyzes refined products, crude, and NGL markets and collaborates with commodities team to develop sales and hedging strategies.
- Performs market research and analysis to maintain knowledge of relevant market fundamentals and identify emerging trends, anomalies, and opportunities
- Compiles, analyzes, interprets, and makes decisions from reporting of MTM positions, risk exposure positions, hedge status, hedged margin values, break-even analysis etc
- Maintains and further expands existing commodities analysis reports and models utilizing various reporting tools such as Qlik, Reuters, RightAngle and Excel add-ins to help ONEOK evaluate and manage commodity exposure
- Analyze MMP physical inventory positions and movements for refined products and crude in ONEOK's and other 3rd party’s inventory systems
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field of study highly preferred
- 4-7 years of job-related experience
- Strong communication and relationship building abilities
- Familiarity with refined products markets
- Demonstrated problem-solving and business analysis skills
- Ability to be detail oriented while also maintaining commercial awareness and focus on the broader view of the overall company strategy
- Aptitude to apply strategic thinking skills to identify and evaluate, logically and creatively, various factors that can have a current and future business impact
- Proficiency in raw data manipulation, applying advanced MS Excel skills with intermediate to advanced computation skills
This position is responsible for the execution of physical and financial trading and performs analysis of inventories, exposure positions and market data to guide execution strategy to optimize value and hedge against commodity risk.
The refined products segment of ONEOK's business will be the primary focus for this role but can include regulatory compliance trading such as RINs, sulfur credits and benzene credits as well as some crude oil trading.
Systems and software primarily used in this role include RightAngle, Qlik Sense, Excel, Atlas, and Cobalt.
