      Position Overview

      As an event and meeting planner on the Corporate Events Team, you will be a member of The PNC Financial Services Group’s Marketing & Communications department that is made up of approximately 300 professionals. You will be based in Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. Other PNC regional hub locations may be considered. The role of the corporate events planner is to effectively plan and execute events that build a positive internal and external reputation for PNC and create a memorable experience for attendees.

      This position is primarily based in a PNC location with domestic event-related travel approximately 8-10 times per year. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.

      The individual selected will manage multiple events from start to finish, provide counsel on a creative and strategic approach to events, lead the scheduling process for large-scale events, conduct research and provide recommendations for client events of varying size and complexity. The planner will oversee all tasks associated with an event, including developing themes, designing electronic invitations (PNC uses the Cvent system), managing attendee lists, arranging décor, securing a venue, liaising with PNC’s media production team and PNC Travel, ordering food and beverage, as well as managing budgets.

      Responsibilities include:
      • Work closely and positively with the executive-level clients.
      • Manage specialized and high-profile events/meetings from initial concept to completion in collaboration with the client.
      • Maintain confidentiality of workplace information according to the PNC policies and procedures.
      • Utilize the Cvent event management system to design event website and event app, send invitations, track responses, create reporting.
      • Demonstrate independent decision making including financial management responsibilities.
      • Supervise and execute all logistical and financial management responsibilities for assigned events/meetings.
      • Offer creative and resourceful ideas, suggestions and expeditiously implement decisions about regarding design, décor and ambience.
      • Using the Request for Proposal (RFP) tool in Cvent, lead negotiation and execution of event venue contracts.
      • Exercise creativity, leadership and expertise in event/meeting planning; set achievable goals and ensure positive results in order to foster and maintain PNC reputation and image.
      • Plan and execute all travel, lodging and logistics for meeting attendees.
      • Oversee the management of on-site event (flow, attendees, vendors)
      • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with event planning teammates, outside vendors and internal partners.
      • Assist in the selection and procurement of gifts and give-aways for specific events.
      • Willingly work after hours, holidays and weekends to meet the demand of the event or project.

      Qualifications
      • Proficiency in communicating and interacting effectively with all levels of the organization and with diverse audience of regional and national business officials.
      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
      • Strong leadership skills to give direction, supervision and guidance to individuals involved in event/meeting planning assignments.
      • Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage expansive, high-profile events according to established standards and within the allotted time frame.
      • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
      • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues throughout PNC.
      • Ability to adapt to and address unexpected on-site developments and changes while maintaining composure and professional demeanor.
      • Ability to keep confidential information confidential.


      Experience with the Cvent meeting management system is a plus, but not required.

      • May lead project teams, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate.
      • Leads preparation and synthesis of communications data; presents to management for decisioning.
