- Support the maintenance of ACF and ABEC’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn) by interacting with followers, building our following, and deepening our storytelling;
- Assist efforts on graphic design requests for social media, events, email campaigns, and more, including but not limited to one-pagers, infographics, and event materials;
- Assist with the launch, maintenance, and update needs for ACF and ABEC’s websites, such as writing copy and updating photos;
- Under supervision, will work with the ACF and ABEC team to expand brand identity by creating an organizational brand kit;
- Prepare regular updates on our digital engagement analytics for staff, advisory committees, and other audiences as needed;
- Occasionally draft original content for social media;
- Identify more opportunities for storytelling in print and digital formats; and
- Event support as needed, including ACF’s 2025 gala and other signature events.
- Individuals assigned to this position may perform other duties as assigned.
- High school completion, or equivalent experience; and
- Experience in content creation for marketing & communication campaigns, or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail;
- Experience working with Canva required, experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred;
- Knowledge of basic design principles (typography, layout, etc.) and design process in digital and print formats;
- Experience working with email campaign platforms (e.g., Mailchimp or Pardot) preferred;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Familiarity with website builders (e.g. Wix or Squarespace) is a plus;
- Familiarity with a project management system (e.g., Monday.com) is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; and
- Cultural competency (the ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds), strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time;
- Ability to use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time; and
- Ability to work on-site and remotely, as required.

Supervises: None
Hybrid Schedule (subject to change): In-office 1 day a week either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Remote work is usually Monday and Friday. Available for in-person community convenings and events during evenings or weekends as needed.
Position Budgeted: $25/hr
Position Summary
The Communications & Design Intern will support the communications, marketing, and outreach efforts of the Asian Community Fund (ACF) and Asian Business Empowerment Council (ABEC) at the Boston Foundation. Duties may include graphic design, content curation, print and online communications, copywriting, and the development of marketing analytics for the purpose of deepening engagement with ACF and ABEC’s community of AAPI residents, community nonprofits, businesses, and cultural leaders across Massachusetts.
This role will work in a hybrid environment (see above) with a mix of in-office and virtual work for a total of 10-15 hours per week during the 2025-2026 school year, as well as the possibility for work during July and August 2025; 8 weeks for Summer 2025, 16 weeks for Fall 2025 semester, 16 weeks for Spring 2026 semester, with flexibility for school schedules. Priority will be given to candidates who are able to work during the summer in addition to the 2025-2026 school year.Essential Functions

The Asian Community Fund (ACF) at the Boston Foundation is the first and only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. ACF is a permanent resource designed to galvanize and unite the diverse ethnicities within our community, incubate new partnerships, and build a stronger advocacy voice.
The Asian Business Empowerment Council (ABEC) – an initiative of the Asian Community Fund – serves as a platform to increase economic power within the AAPI business community and to address systemic disparities that limit business ownership, growth, and sustainability. ABEC aims to coordinate and unify a vibrant community of business owners, entrepreneurs, service providers, and advocates to build a strong collective voice for the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) business community across Massachusetts.
