      Job summary

      The purpose of the role is to provide efficient, effective and flexible high quality training packages to general practices in Doncaster, and implement effective communications and engagement techniques to support Primary Care Doncaster in its ambition to be a transparent organisation, committed to continuous learning. Working closely with all members of the team, you will be expected to:

      support delivery of Primary Care Doncaster's (PCD) workforce, education and training strategies

      ensure efficient communication and engagement with patients, public and PCD stakeholders

      support the PCD workforce strategy agenda

      Main duties of the job

      Under direction of the Communications and Events Officer, the Communications and Events assistant will:

      Support the PCD Communications and Events Officer and the PCD Senior Leadership Team to ensure the key benefits of PCD, it's aims, vision and strategy are made clear and transparent.

      Support implementation of any new training programmes and PCD events as required

      Support the development, implementation, and promotion of company image and branding.

      Act as point of contact for matters relating to communication, events, training and PCD's digital and public presence.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      Training, Education and Workforce

      Co-ordinate and manage the monthly GP, Nurse and non-clinical TARGET sessions

      Support the management of the registration process for all education and learning programmes and events

      Maintain contact databases and distribution lists ensuring that GDPR processes are followed

      Source and book venues, key note speakers and all necessary resources as required for sessions and events. Including on the day trouble shooting as necessary

      Act as liaison between PCD, sponsors, training providers and any other partners involved ensuring best value for money

      Monitor session and event attendance including supply of certificates, dealing with attendance queries, publishing session and event details

      Support evaluation and reporting of training and education sessions ensuring any learning or incidents are fed to the relevant PCD staff member and recorded on the appropriate Log

      Working with the Communication and Events Officer, support the Clinical Educators and Curriculum Group or any other group and meetings dedicated to compiling forward schedules and training plans liaising with speakers, stand-holders, and participants as necessary

      Act as deputy when require to provide on the day support by introducing speakers when the Clinical Educator is not available

      Support the co-ordination, role out and implementation of workforce, wellbeing and resilience tools and programmes

      Support the development and maintenance of the PCD Local Staff Network under guidance of the PCD Communication and Events Officer

      Deputise for PCD Communications and Events Officer in attending SY wide communication, workforce and education meetings as the PCD representative

      Support integration of SY Training and Workforce Hub programmes

      Support implementation of any new training programmes and PCD events as required

      Communication and Engagement

      Support the development, implementation, and promotion of company image and branding including coordinating merchandise

      Drafting, editing and publishing content through PCDs digital communication channels, including itsWebsite and social media feeds under guidance from the PCD Communication and Events Officer or other PCD Corporate Team members

      Create and support planning of multi-media communications materials

      Deputise for the PCD Communication and Events Officer in supporting the system partners in their communication strategies as required

      Day to day management of the PCD social media presence including driving and responding to engagement

      Day to day management of the PCD website and members area as appropriate

      Ongoing maintenance of the communications calendar

      Support the compilation and production of the regular newsletters and bulletins (at an agreed frequency) for distribution to the PCD member practices and stakeholders

      Deputise for the PCD Communication and Events Officer when required to support member practices with their communications and engagement functions and any ongoing actions or follow up activities/support

      Support the running of surveys, Annual General meetings (AGM) or stakeholder and shareholder events and engagement activities as directed

      Support development of brand materials, including patient literature where appropriate to supportdelivery of PCDs clinical services

      Draft media and stakeholder briefings and press releases ensuring senior approval before publishing

      Support the development, promotion and organisation of PCD events

      Support the development, promotion and organisation of Primary Care Network (PCN) events

      Deputise for the PCD Communications and Events Officer in providing communications updates to the weekly team huddle to ensure staff are thinking about opportunities for greater engagement and promotion, and remind staff that effective communications is essential to delivering PCDs aims and objectives

      Support the PCD Communications and Events Officer and the PCD Senior Leadership Team to ensure the key benefits of PCD, its aims, vision and strategy are made clear and transparent

      Communicate national and local opportunities and facilitate general practice involvement

      Attend meetings and act as PCD representative as required

      Coordination of fundraising activities

      Act as point of contact for matters relating to communication, events, training and PCDs digital and public presence

      Deputise and provide cover for members of the PCD Corporate Team as and when instructed to do so including acting as PCD representative at meetings and events

      Build and maintain good working relationships with PCD Team members, commissioners, GP member practices and SY Health and Social Care partners

      Support PCD to maintain and improve CQC compliance including assistance of embedding CQC related policy and regulation as a high priority in day-to-day service delivery

      Act as deputy for the PCD Communication and Events Officer as and when instructed

      Support implementation and mobilisation of new and existing PCD services working in collaboration with other PCD Team members and partner organisations as required
