Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or other relevant field, AND either two (2) years of professional experience in print OR broadcast news media, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience.
Experience developing and executing a communication plan.
Demonstrated multitasking abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience writing press releases, making presentations, and communicating with media.
Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
Proven abilities in effective new media marketing/advertising strategies.
Experience working with diverse populations.

Summary of Duties:
As the Communications Coordinator, you will develop and implement an annual communication plan for International Programs (IP) and the Health Equity Research Center (HERC), including writing, editing, and/or coordinating program schedules, news releases, web pages, and other material or projects supporting each unit’s public relations, development, and other unit goals. In this position you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various internal and external partners to promote special campaigns and events for IP and HERC and to coordinate outreach and promotion. Additionally, you will coordinate communication plans and products with the IP External Affairs team.

Monthly Salary: $3,382 - $4,998.68 (75% FTE rate) | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
