Job Description

- Writing articles for newsletter articles, email campaigns, web content, and social media
- Interviewing library patrons
- Compiling website and social media analytics
- Assisting with organizational marketing and coordinating marketing efforts with the library
- Participating in Marketing Committee meetings
- Completing other office tasks as needed
- Applicants should have excellent judgment; strong writing, organizational and time management skills; and be detail-oriented and tech-savvy.
- College students pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, business, nonprofit management, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
- Hours are flexible, and occasional weekend or evening work may be required. Ability to work some hours in-officeon Tuesdays or Wednesdays strongly preferred.
- A vehicle is a plus, as this position will require some travel to Madison’s nine neighborhood libraries.
Department Overview:
Since 1993, Madison Public Library Foundation has been committed to developing sustainable and vibrant partnerships between the community and the city’s library system. Our role is to bridge the financial gap between publicly funded library services and all the experiences that library staff want to deliver to the community. We raise millions of dollars each year for collections, technology, programs, professional development, equity and innovation projects, capital campaigns, endowments and the Wisconsin Book Festival. With the help of our generous donors, we build better libraries every day.
