      Role: Communications Intern

      Reports to: Senior Communications Specialist at LAC (Supervisor)

      Schedule: Part-time, Mon-Thurs.

      Location: Remote (Preferred within Mexico, but open to Latin America)


      About the Role

      The Communications Intern for the Latin America Hub will assist the Senior Communications Specialist in various aspects of internal and external communications.

      This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in corporate communications and public relations. The Communications intern will be work closely with the Senior Communications Specialist to support content development for the Latin America and the Caribbean Hub across various social media platforms amongst other learning opportunities.

      The Intern will support in the following areas:

      • Draft and edit content for blogs, newsletters, and social media.
      • Assist with translations and short, audience-focused copywriting.
      • Schedule and monitor posts across the Hub’s social media platforms.
      • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure regular updates.
      • Design visuals such as carousels, short videos, and presentations.
      • Support the preparation of newsletters and other internal communication materials.
      • Assist in planning and executing communication campaigns and events.
      • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas for communication strategies.

      Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
      • Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices
      • Basic understanding of graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
      • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
      • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
      • Creativity and willingness to learn


      Duration

      This is an internship for a period for an initial period of 3-months, with the possibility of extension for exceptional performers.
