Communications Intern
Southfield, Michigan
Objective
The Communications and Culture Intern is part of the Americas Communications team and will support all communication efforts across the United States, assisting the department in strategy, design, and execution of communication campaigns and support of local initiatives. You will work directly with the US team to support internal customers in multiple states, along with supporting the global communications team agenda covering the US, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia. Initiatives include, but are not limited to executive communications, D&I, safety, sustainability, engagement, and the employee experience.
Main Responsibilities
•Strategize methods for internal communication campaigns to effectively communicate business initiatives (30%)
•Drive executive communications, including writing talking points and video scripts (25%)
•Support communication efforts in all the US plants, delivering campaigns and execution methods to local teams (20%)
•Seek out and write intranet stories for US region (10%)
•Support global social media calendar (5%)
•Manage photo and video shoots (10%)
Position Requirements
• Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Communications field
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness to learn new systems
• Ability to work 16+ hours a week
