- Develop the company’s colleague communication strategy and communicate important management decisions & company news to colleagues based in the UK
- Draft colleague communications, creating a range of content, including video, for the company’s intranet site
- Organise and facilitate colleague events – virtual and physical
- Manage colleague communication channels, including email updates, intranet, and Slack
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify unique colleague stories and develop engaging content
- Raise awareness of the company’s colleague credentials and culture in media and at relevant speaker events
- Significant internal communications experience, preferably gained in-house at a large organisation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Editorial mindset and a natural storyteller
- Proactive, flexible with strong interpersonal skills and capable of building a strong internal network to source relevant and engaging content
- Strategic problem solver with track-record of driving tangible results backed up with data and analysis
- Comfortable communicating at all levels and influencing others
- Strong project management skills, juggling priorities and delivering against deadlines. Calm under pressure.

American Express, is looking for an experienced communications professional to join its Corporate Affairs and Communications team. Based in London, this position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications. The successful candidate, for this maternity cover role, will be responsible for leading the company-wide colleague communications strategy.
The candidate must be an excellent storyteller, and able to bring to life how American Express backs its colleagues, customers, and the community. Experience in content creation through a variety of media is desirable.
