      Stark Library is seeking a Communications Operations Manager to lead the Communication department's project workflow related to branding, marketing, and digital presence. The role reports to the Director, Marketing & Communications. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and have excellent attention to detail.

      Job Summary

      The Communications Operations Manager manages the workflow of key projects in the Communications department, contributes to the development of strategies for the Library’s digital presence, and performs long-term, critical analysis to increase effectiveness of the Library’s digital efforts.

      Essential Functions

      • Sets and maintains project calendar and workflow for the department
      • Formulates goals, plans, and procedures for the successful completion of assigned projects
      • Oversees creative timelines and proactively alerts team members of deadlines to ensure key deliverables are on time
      • Exercises independent judgment to resolve issues throughout project life cycle
      • Monitors and approves print and digital submissions by Communications team
      • Completes graphic design projects, including the creation of print and digital pieces, as needed
      • Helps maintain brand integrity and consistent messaging across all electronic channels
      • Monitors social media analytics to understand audience, experiment with new strategies, and make informed decisions on how to refine digital presence for the Library
      • Evaluates the effectiveness of the Library’s online efforts, analyzing key metrics, measuring outcomes and identifying trends, with a goal of driving web traffic and online engagement
      • Keeps current on industry best practices and trends in email marketing and social media

      Other Functions

      • Assists in crisis communications, as needed
      • Assists with finalizing employee newsletter and other internal communications, including editing and proofreading
      • Creates, uploads, and collaborates on website content
      • May write blog posts as needed
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications

      Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Design or Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
      • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field
      • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above
      • Professional social media management experience is required
      • Previous project management experience preferred

      • Intermediate proficiency with Adobe Suite, Meta Business Suite

      • Knowledge of Wrike is a plus

      Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

      • This job operates in a professional office environment with exposure to central climate control, overhead lighting, and low-to-moderate noise levels.
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear, sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions, and reach with hands and arms, and to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 15 pounds. It requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computers.
      • Some travel by personal automobile for frequent off-site meetings in various settings may occur. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
      • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performing work tasks outside of these hours, including weekends, may be required due to the community service nature of the Library and hours open to the public.
