      Position Overview

      • In support of the North American Food Away From Home business, the (entry level) Communications Specialist will support the McCormick for Chefs (US) and Club House for Chefs (Canada) brands, which include Frank’s RedHot, Cholula, French’s, etc. You will be responsible for leading organic social media strategies, as well as supporting paid social media campaigns, influencer strategies, and event activations, and collaborating with internal teams to create a seamless brand presence across owned media platforms. This position will report to the Content & Communications Manager and works collaboratively with a copywriter.

      Key Responsibilities

      1. Responsible for organic social content planning, posting, and community management for McCormick for Chefs and Club House for Chefs across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram including:
        • Social Publishing: In collaboration with Content & Communications manager and copywriter, develop monthly social media editorial calendar, prepare automated publishing process, and confirm publishing of all social posts across channels.
        • Community Management: Monitor all social accounts daily. Reactively respond to comments/DMs in the brand’s tone of voice and proactively engage with Chefs and Operators to drive 1-1 relationships.
        • Opportunistic Moments: Monitor all social channels for opportunistic moments for the brands. Flag all opportunities to the greater team with recommendations for execution. Stay alert of industry and content trends that spike through social media.
        • Content Creation: Concept, record, and edit short-form, lo-fi video content such as Reels in addition to producing designed static images and carousels.
        • Surprise and Delights: Develop ideas to gift free products and swag to key industry contacts that support opportunistic moments and product launches. Includes mining for contacts and managing shipping.
      2. Support relevant reporting including:
        • Social Analytics and Reporting: Execute and organize monthly data pulls of all platform performance metrics. Support with analyzing data and developing insights.
        • Event and Co-branded Activation Impact: Proactively put together one-page recaps including pulling cross-functional data, social listening, etc.
      3. Sponsorships and Events: Support business investment in various sponsorships, tradeshows, and co-branded activations including:
        • Supporting the activation approach by planning content, coordinating on-site content capture, and managing real-time posting during events
        • Leverage content in the monthly social media editorial calendar to amplify our brand’s involvement and increase the total reach of the activation.
      4. Support the execution of paid social media campaigns including:
        • Content Creation: Develop, refresh, and traffic creative assets used in paid social media campaigns and activations based on direction from the Content and Communications manager.
        • Asset Management: Maintain creative asset organization through the use of owned digital asset management platform.
      5. Additional/Secondary Requirements
        • Travel requirement – up to 10%

      Required Qualifications

      1. Level of Education and Discipline
        • Bachelor’s degree in digital media, Marketing, or Communications field
      2. Experience
        • 1+ years of relevant work experience or related internships
      3. Interpersonal Skills
        • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to handle a high-volume workload
        • Experience working with cross-functional team members
        • Ability to bring new, creative ideas to the business for consideration
        • Willingness to react and respond in a timely manner
      4. Other Skills and Competencies
        • Experience with native social insights tools (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and able to adapt easily to platform changes
        • Experience with comprehensive social media management platform (Hootsuite), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook), Canva, Capcut
      5. Preferred Qualifications
        • Experience working with multiple brands with unique styles and tones of voice
        • Experience in the foodservice industry
        • Cooking experience/food and ingredient knowledge

      Base Salary: $62,090 - $108,600

      Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program.
