- Supports the EWR Redevelopment in Communications and Electronics systems.
- Reviews regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project activities.
- Responsible for review and assesses conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards.
- Assist to resolve design issues and questions from contractor.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractor and the project team.
- Must be able to perform a detailed comparison of the design drawings against the contract requirements.
- Analyzes project task needs, changes and enhancements and makes recommendations.
- Prepares and gives briefings and presentations, advise senior management.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related degree.
- Essential Licenses/Certifications as applicable.
- Minimum 7-10 years of transportation engineering experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC) is required.
- Experience with network and IT infrastructure background for terminals, airtrains and stations.
- Familiarity with NY area transportation agencies such as Amtrak, LIRR, MetroNorth, NJT, NYCT, PANYNJ and their technical approach.
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Communications Systems Engineer for our Newark, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Transit and Rail Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP. This is full time onsite for the duration of the program. The project location is Newark Airport.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $97,000 - $170,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
