- Assist in the implementation of daily activity plans and center events.
- Assist in the completion of all necessary reporting requirements of the center by maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, daily attendance, and communication with center participants.
- Provide regular, on-going communication to the Center Manager and Center Coordinator.
- Help to ensure the cleanliness of the center.
- Create a positive constituent environment that is engaging and productive.
- Familiarizes self with facility, security, rules and regulations and enforces accordingly.
- Required to work during a business closure in order to meet operational requirements.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Must be able to obtain Food Handlers certification within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid and AED certification within 90 days of employment.
- Proficient working knowledge of computers and related software comprised of CIVICREC, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and office equipment.
- Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Work to create a safe, secure and healthy work environment for fellow employees.
- Work with staff to accomplish all goals.
- You will be required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- You must have the ability to take initiative and possess skills for problem solving and conflict resolution.
- You also must be efficient and detail-oriented with a strong customer/constituent focus.

- Reports To Position: Community Center Manager or designee
Supervises Positions: None - This job operates in a both a clerical, office setting and outdoors in a variety of environmental and weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
- Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds with assistance rarely; carrying tools, materials, and equipment over rough terrain; climbing, reaching and bending. Frequently to walk, sit, talk, drive, hear, bend, stoop, twist, and balance.
What you will do for Harris County Precinct 2:
Under the direction of the Community Center Manager, the Community Center Aide will assist in the implementation of daily activity plans and center events. The Center Aide is responsible for providing community-based programs and will supervise, monitor, and facilitate activities including but not limited to recreational programs for seniors, adults, children & teens, facility rentals/reservations, etc.
