- Support and assist the Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Help create a friendly, open, and safe environment.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering telephones, maintaining files, and preparing documents.
- Develop and create new programs, offerings, and curriculum for participants.
- Assist in maintaining programs and lead classes as appropriate.
- Establish friendly working relationships with regular participants.
- Develop community partnerships that may provide workshops, classes, programs, lectures, seminars, and/or entertainment for participants.
- Maintain records.
- Communicate Commissioner Precinct 4 functions and resources to participants as appropriate.
- Attend professional development programs, such as writing development and safety.
- Set up and break down rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness of the center when facilities personnel are unavailable.
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends to ensure staff coverage during the Center’s operating hours.
- Other duties may be assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One (1) year of experience in customer service or in clerical work
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.

- Comfortable leading a class as needed.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to listen.
- Time management, multi-tasking, and data entry skills.
- Proficient in meeting multiple deadlines and balancing numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must work well with the public and staff members alike.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Works effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Innovative, proactive, and creative in finding solutions and completing assignments.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
Two (2) years of experience in customer service or clerical work (preferred)
Familiarity with Canva or graphic design experience (preferred)
Bilingual, Spanish (preferred)
Regular | Full-time | 40 hours per week

What you will do for Harris County Precinct 4 (HCP4)
This position will assist the Tracy Gee Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager in coordinating operations and activities, scheduling the use of the community center, and assist in providing community services and recreational and educational opportunities for participants of all ages. The employee ensures that priorities and expectations are being met for participants. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
