      The Community Court Case Manager/Coordinator works collaboratively with the Community Court judges, program coordinators, attorneys, and service/treatment providers to coordinate care for program participants as needed. The CCCM will work with clients both in and out of custody and should have a good understanding of resources in the community (treatment, housing, etc.) to make appropriate referrals for clients. The CCCM will also assist with the Community Court Resource Centers and may provide backup to the program coordinators as needed. The CCCM will primarily work with existing CC programs in Auburn, Redmond, and Shoreline, but may need to report to other KCDC locations as needed.

      Essential Functions

      Provide case management and general trouble shooting to Community Court participants regarding treatment placement and access to other social services.

      Works with Judges and Community Court Coordinators of all Community Court programs.

      Attends all Community Court calendars to assist participants with navigating the Resource Centers and connections to services and assists in running the Community Court Resource Centers at all program locations.

      Maintain a proficient working knowledge of all commonly utilized Community Court treatment and non-treatment resources and make referrals as appropriate.

      Provide participants with information on the expectations of Community Court and conduct intakes with prospective participants (both in and out of custody) as needed and coordinate transportation to treatment, housing move-in, and other services for participants.

      Acquire and maintain a high level of competence in the understanding of substance use disorders, mental health disorders, socioeconomic and cultural factors, and treatment resource availability.

      Monitor and report on participants' progress throughout the Community Court program to a multidisciplinary team both orally and in writing.

      Participate in client staffing and policy meetings and make well-reasoned, defensible clinical/treatment recommendations to a multidisciplinary team.

      Apply a professional and therapeutic approach to problem solving participant needs.

      Additional Responsibilities

      Provide back-up support for Community Court Coordinators as needed.

      This position may assist the Therapeutic Court Manager, Community Court Coordinators, and other staff with the planning and implementation of new Community Court programs and resource centers.

      Supervisory Responsibilities

      This position does not have responsibility for coaching and development, performance review, discipline, hiring, or terminating of any Court employees.

      Education and Experience

      High school diploma and five years court program management experience including experience with social/human services programs.

      OR

      An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job.

      • Knowledge of principles of administration, planning, supervision, and organization
      • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate work
      • Ability to maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance

      Work location:
      You may be assigned to work at any District Court location which include: Shoreline, Seattle, Redmond, Issaquah, Bellevue, Burien, Auburn or Kent(MRJC). Employees must reside in Washington state and within a commuting distance to the King County Courthouse to meet sporadic workplace reporting requirements.

      Physical Demands:
      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and move and/or lift up to 10 pounds. The vision abilities required to perform this position include close vision.

      Working Conditions:
      Work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise (computers, printers, light traffic). This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
