      FUNDING & IMPACT

      While maintaining a strong connection with adidas AG, our primary funding source, we operate with full autonomy to strategically allocate resources toward fulfilling our charitable mission. We drive impactful initiatives, including grants for nonprofit organizations worldwide, support local projects aligned with our mission and empower social entrepreneurs through grants and seed funding. Our collaborations with essential service providers guarantee the successful execution of initiatives, ranging from refurbishing community football pitches to conducting impact assessments. Our local initiatives in the greater Nuremberg area serve as a launching pad for global expansion, empowering communities around the world. Additionally, we actively contribute to research and advocacy efforts, furthering our overarching goals.       COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR - ADIDAS FOUNDATION (M/F/D)

      The Community Engagement Advisor plays a pivotal role in fostering meaningful connections with key communities relevant to the mission of the adidas Foundation, developing and advising on participatory and community-led approaches that help ensure the work of the adidas Foundation is aligned with the interests, ambitions, and contextual realities of communities we work with. This role is critical to mainstreaming inclusive approaches and amplifying the voices, views, and stories of communities we aim to support to ensure they remain central to the decision making and actions of the organization and its partners. Through direct facilitation of community engagement initiatives, providing tools, guidance and capacity building as needed, the Community Engagement Advisor will imbed an organizational culture of keeping communities at the heart of all that we do.


      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support implementation of the adidas Foundation’s global stakeholder engagement strategy in all areas as needed, particularly leading in implementation of community engagement elements of it
      • Develop community engagement tools, techniques, guidelines, and projects that ensure the actions of the adidas Foundation can address the true needs, interests, barriers, and ambitions of the communities we aim to serve
      • Facilitate participatory and capacity building activities related to community engagement, creating forums and communities of practice as needed across the adidas Foundation and its network of partners and stakeholders
      • Align community engagement efforts with broader communication strategies and engagement activities, actively liaising with diverse audiences, attending key meetings, and meticulously overseeing messaging alignment with feedback received from partners and communities
      • Define best practice approaches to safeguarding partners and communities the adidas Foundation works with, collaborating with the Operations department to ensure these are integrated into essential policies, oversight, and grievance mechanisms
      • Contribute to the creation of essential communication assets tailored for funders, partners, political and public representatives, and other stakeholders that convey the stories of our partners and communities in a respectful and ethical manner that aligns with the values of the adidas Foundation
      • Work closely with MEAL and Programs to ensure robust capture of community engagement insights and integration back into partnership and program design
      • Drive initiatives to ensure necessary stakeholders within the adidas Foundation and its network understand, embrace, and champion community engagement best practices

      • adidas Foundation’s Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Stakeholder Engagement team, Head of Programs, Managing Director, other department heads and broader team
      • Program Partners, Community Representatives and Groups
      • Non-Profit Organizations, Coalitions and Associations
      • External vendors and consultants

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • A results-driven and self-motivated team player with compassion, integrity, trust, and perseverance
      • Demonstrates expertise in developing, executing, and evaluating community engagement initiatives and an understanding of safeguarding best practices
      • Excellent facilitator capable of mainstreaming participatory and inclusive approaches into meetings, workshops, and activities
      • Extensive knowledge of framing communications in a compelling and evidence-based way while respecting the dignity of all communities and individuals involved
      • Exhibits sound judgment, tact, humility, and discretion in working with stakeholders and partners. Culturally savvy with extensive interpersonal skills, connecting effectively with diverse communities, stakeholders, and cultures, prioritizing trust-based relationship building
      • Adept communicator, proficient in engaging and building rapport with partners, funders, political and public representatives, and institutions
      • Willingness to jump in and support in any other areas related to communications and stakeholder engagement for the Foundation as needed
      • A strong desire to work with diverse teams in dynamic startup environment, applying a hands-on working and adaptive management style and showcasing empathetic and empowering leadership skills, fostering talent retention and development
      • Strong and effective English presentation and communication skills (verbal and in written) for delivering high-quality, tailored products. Additional language skills a value-add benefit


      Requisite Education and Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent)
      • At least 5 years of progressive experience in community engagement, facilitation, communications, or another relevant field, preferably in a grant making and/or non-profit context
      • Evidence of specialization in sports-for-good, sustainability and/or international development related topics is beneficial
