      Job Description

      Job Purpose

      To develop, execute, and manage community and marketing initiatives that align with Home Instead's mission and values. This role aims to enhance brand awareness, build strong relationships within the community, and increase market share. The Community Engagement Officer will actively promote Home Instead’s services and employment opportunities while establishing and maintaining a robust network of referral sources and community partnerships.

      Key Responsibilities

      1. Community Engagement and Relationship Building
        • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the local community to identify and leverage opportunities for promoting Home Instead’s services.
        • Build a sustainable pipeline of referral partners and maintain ongoing communication to support client growth and care professional recruitment.
        • Engage with community organisations, local businesses, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
        • Represent Home Instead at community events, networking meetings, and professional organisations to build brand visibility and credibility.
      2. Marketing and Promotional Activities
        • Plan, organise, and execute a variety of community marketing events, such as fairs, exhibitions, health clinics, and recruitment drives to showcase Home Instead's services and employment opportunities.
        • Deliver presentations and workshops on key topics relevant to senior care, such as Dementia Awareness, Fraud Prevention, Nutrition & Hydration, etc., both in-person and virtually.
        • Create and distribute marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and promotional items, ensuring they reflect Home Instead’s brand values and messaging.
      3. Digital and Social Media Strategy
        • Develop, manage, and implement a schedule of activities across social media platforms to engage with the local community, increase brand awareness, and attract potential clients and employees.
        • Create engaging digital content that communicates Home Instead’s mission, services, and value proposition, ensuring all content is accurate and up to date.
        • Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance, using analytics to optimise strategies and improve engagement.
      4. Data Management and Reporting
        • Accurately track and record community engagement activities, inquiries, and leads using the company's CRM system.
        • Analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives and marketing campaigns.
        • Provide regular reports to the Business Development Manger, highlighting key activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
      5. Strategic Planning and Execution
        • Work collaboratively with the Business Development Manager and the wider team to align local community engagement strategies with overall business objectives.
        • Adapt marketing and engagement plans based on market analysis, community feedback, and evolving business needs.
        • Proactively identify new opportunities for community involvement and recommend strategies to increase Home Instead’s presence and impact.
      6. Compliance and Best Practices
        • Ensure all community engagement and marketing activities comply with Home Instead’s Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities Policy.
        • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in community engagement, marketing, and senior care.
        • Adhere to Home Instead’s policies and procedures, promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and professionalism.
      7. Additional Responsibilities
        • Carry out any other duties deemed necessary for the successful operation and growth of the business.
        • Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, adapting to the needs of community events and business requirements.

      Qualifications

      Essential Criteria

      • Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships within a local community to achieve business objectives.
      • Excellent networking skills with the ability to engage confidently in person, by phone, email, and video calls with community stakeholders and referral providers.
      • Experience delivering presentations and workshops on topics related to senior care, with a capacity to engage and inform diverse audiences.
      • Good understanding of marketing principles and experience using various marketing and communication techniques, including managing digital media platforms and campaigns.
      • Proficient in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office or Google Suite, and virtual communication platforms. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as required.
      • Strong analytical skills with experience using data and analytics to make informed business decisions.
      • Effective interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for delivering engaging presentations.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
      • Self-motivated, resilient, and capable of using initiative to solve problems and adapt to changing business needs.
      • Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours as needed to support community events and business goals.
      • Experience using a CRM database to track interactions with referral providers and manage community engagement activities.

      Desirable Criteria

      • Experience in the health and social care sector, particularly in community engagement or marketing roles.
      • Knowledge of the local community, including key organizations, businesses, and influencers on the West Coast of Scotland.
      • Familiarity with Home Instead’s mission, values, and approach to senior care.
