      Location: Somer Valley Community Nurses, Midsomer Norton & surrounding areas.

      Hours: Full time but may consider part time hours for the right candidate.

The Somer Valley Community Nursing Team are excited to welcome a new Healthcare Assistant to our close-knit and supportive team. This role is based at The Hollies, Midsomer Norton however we also cover surrounding areas such as Timsbury, Peasedown St John, Paulton and Radstock. Our core hours are typically 9am 5pm Monday to Friday, working one in every four weekends. Why Join Us?

      Main duties of the job

      As a Grade 3 healthcare assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the community nursing team and wider multidisciplinary team in Midsomer Norton and the surrounding areas. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

      Observations

      Wound care

      Pressure ulcer prevention

      Blood glucose monitoring

      Administration of insulin

      Venepuncture

      Collection of samples

      Signposting

      Recognition of deterioration in patients and reporting accordingly

      Knowledge of Long-Term Conditions

      Job responsibilities

      As a Health Care Assistant, youll be part of our valued team at The Hollies, Midsomer Norton .

      As a band 3 healthcare assistant, you will have some knowledge and experience in care. We will provide you with additional relevant training and support you to do your job. Your duties will generally be routine in nature and carried out on a day-to-day basis. You will have the experience and expertise to work on your own, seeking guidance from registered staff as required. You will be supervised by registered practitioners, who will monitor the caseload.

      You will be expected to attend muti-disciplinary team meetings and work closely with multi-professionals. You will be looking after patients who have multiple long-term conditions and life limiting prognosis.

      • Level III NVQ or equivalent in Health and social care.
      • A motivated, adaptable, and hardworking healthcare assistant who thrives in a dynamic environment.
      • Excellent communication skills to support patients, families, and colleagues.
      • A proactive approach to holistic case management and rehabilitation.
      • A full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance for community visits.
      • Knowledge and confidence using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
