- Develop, maintain and manage internal and external partnerships.
- Serve on and facilitate internal and/or community workgroups/coalitions, task forces, and committees.
- Formulate project partnerships and support the design and implementation of projects with external partner(s) from beginning to completion.
- Coordinate contracts and manage project budgets.
- Evaluate program results and prepare reports to assist management and/or committees in making decisions.
- Engage and conduct engagement with youth development programs, libraries, parks and recreation, community center staff, and youth and young adults to understand their unique needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of policy, systems, and environmental change practices and research for out of school youth and young adult settings and community health.
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, public administration, research methods, statistics, behavioral/social science, public health, computer science/MIS, management science, urban/city planning and two years of related experience.
- Six years or more of related experience.
- Professional experience working with youth and young adult diverse populations experiencing racial and health disparities and inequities.
- Experience:
- Supporting the design and implementation of projects with external partner(s) from beginning to completion.
- Incorporating project evaluation and quality improvement.
- Utilizing project management and facilitation tools and practices for project implementation.
- Leading engagement focused on youth and young adult in various community settings.
- Leading projects that focus on improving health and racial equity.
- As a subject matter expert in youth and young adult healthy eating, physical activity, trauma informed practices, and/or mental well-being.
- Ability to:
- Gather and analyze data and information, design and test solutions to problems, and formulate plans.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with a variety of partners, both internal and external.
- Identify and discuss issues of race and racism and social determinants of health.
- Utilize technology such as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Knowledge of Mental health, social emotional learning, trauma informed youth and young adult programing.

Public Health is seeking a Community Health Youth Coordinator to join the Public Health Promotion team within the Community Health and Strategic Initiatives area. This coordinator will promote healthy eating, physical activity, and mental well-being within youth-focused out of school and young adult community settings; core activities will strive for racial and health equity informed policy, systems, and environmental change. This position will develop, maintain and manage key relationships within Hennepin County and externally. This position will build relationships, develop and implement culturally responsive comprehensive plans, and evaluate outcomes, while providing support to colleagues in consultation with the program supervisor to lead projects to completion.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed b on-site at the Health Services Building - 525 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and at various community locations and remote as job duties require. The office location may change per business needs. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility in hours. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.
