      Position Overview

      Kiewit is seeking a Community Impact and Relations Strategist to design, plan and lead the corporate giving and volunteer initiatives of our Lenexa-based organization. This role involves representing the company in all facets associated with volunteer activities and community engagement. You will be responsible for planning and developing programs dedicated to cultivating goodwill and fostering relationships with community leaders.

We offer a variety of engineering services, including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services.       • Renewables and new technology
      • Water/wastewater

      This position is located in Lenexa, KS.

      Responsibilities

      • Design and oversee our local organization’s philanthropic initiatives, ensuring they align with a charitable strategy reflective of Kiewit’s core values.
      • Collaborate with leadership to develop a comprehensive philanthropy plan that identifies long-term goals and monitors progress, enabling us to transparently communicate the community impact.
      • Manage public outreach efforts and enhance the company’s visibility within our local community.
      • Drive internal processes to facilitate sponsorship and funding requests, organize stewardship opportunities and lead large-scale giving campaigns.
      • Establish and maintain a streamlined system for tracking and approving charitable requests.
      • Foster relationships with key charities and community organizations.
      • Lead fundraising initiatives encompassing employee giving, employee-driven fundraising projects, and event fundraising in collaboration with external sponsors.
      • Orchestrate large-scale event planning, ensuring substantial participation and engagement from employees to effectively execute successful fundraising events.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
      • Professional experience in philanthropy, charity or volunteer organizations required, with prior experience developing enterprise-wide charitable giving strategy preferred.
      • Nonprofit management experience, specifically experience in basic nonprofit accounting principles and general knowledge of the laws regarding nonprofits and corporate philanthropy.
      • Advanced knowledge of community relations, public relations, communications, media relations, and marketing principles and practices.
      • A successful track record in executing strategy, setting priorities, managing multiple projects, and working effectively under pressure to achieve individual and organizational goals.
      • Demonstrate a versatile skillset with confidence, professionalism and impeccable communication while representing Kiewit internally and externally.
      • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with an adept capacity to listen, balance perspectives, negotiate effectively, and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
      • Highly motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced team environment and demonstrates quick adaptability to evolving market and organizational dynamics.
      • Capable of working independently in ambiguous environments, expertly and strategically managing projects from inception through execution.
