      Trader Joe's is unlike any place you've ever worked. Trust us on that. The qualified person has at least 3 to 5 years of applicable work experience experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree in is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA.

      The Community Impact Coordinator plays a fundamental role in ensuring that we remain a national chain of neighborhood stores by supporting our Captains and Crew in the coordination of our donations programs. Knowledgeable about company Values, goals and approach to community outreach, the Community Relations Impact Coordinator maintains the guidelines and resources for the Neighborhood Shares Program and serves as liaison between our stores and community organizations, focusing on efficient communication and the thoughtful distribution of our Shares in an effort to minimize food waste and positively impact our neighbors nationwide. Works closely with the Stores and other departments across the company as needed to ensure successful execution of Shares and other donation centered programs.

      The Community Impact Coordinator is responsible for:

      • Supports the execution of programs, events, and activities that advance Trader Joe’s community giving initiatives, with a primary focus on maximizing our efforts to share unsellable food with appropriate community groups.
      • Maintains guidelines for our Neighborhood Shares and donation programs.
      • Serves as a resource for Crew Members, providing support and guidance to ensure a successful, sustainable donations/shares programs.
      • Supports stores with donation-based inquires and works to legitimatize donations partners; maintains a centralized database of records and waivers for every local organization that picks up shares from our stores.
      • Serves as a front-line liaison with our food donation partners; working closely with both the national network and local organizations to foster positive, productive relationships, ensuring our stores are well supported in the management of their Shares distributions.
      • Assists in various communications regarding donation requests from stores, customers, and partners—manages the Shares inbox and calls, with efficiency.
      • Assists in the verification of non-profit organizations; facilitates partner onboarding; organizes required Shares Program/partner documentation.
      • Supports the Manager of Community Impact with special projects, events, and committee-related activities.
      The qualified person has:
      • Four-year college degree strongly preferred
      • Minimum three years’ experience in donation coordination and/or community relations in retail setting, with experience managing large-scale projects.
      • Proficient in Microsoft suite, digitally savvy, with a strong aptitude for self-directed work.
