      Community Impact Intern – Summer 2024

      As a Community Impact intern, you will be a critical member of the small but mighty team that drives sustainable change in Campbell’s office and manufacturing locations through employee giving programs, volunteerism, grantmaking, and community partnerships. You will gain valuable experience in corporate philanthropy and employee engagement, working with a team passionate about community impact and connecting employees to the company's purpose and values.

      This role is based at Campbell’s Headquarters in Camden, NJ. (across the river from Philadelphia, PA).

      What we require of candidates:

      • Currently enrolled in bachelor’s program; major in related field such as public health, sustainability, business, social impact, communications, etc. is a plus)

      • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

      • Excitement for learning and willingness to ask questions, including comfort in learning new technologies/systems

      • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently

      • Strong project management skills and attention to detail

      • Strong writing and storytelling skills

      • Great relationship builder

      • Passion for community/social impact

      • Experience and comfort working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

      • Experience with Canva, Prezi, Word Press, and other communications/graphics programs a plus

      • Approved to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship or assistance from the company


      Primary Responsibilities:
      Assist the Community Affairs team with various projects, including:

      • Platform Management

      • Events

      • Communications & Marketing

      • Grantmaking

      • Research & Analytics

      • Support Campbell’s Cares employee giving portal to ensure it’s current with available volunteer events, campaigns, etc.

      • Support day-to-day operations of giving and metrics platforms; for example, reviewing employee match requests and uploading data

      • Provide support and training to employees around creating volunteer events and tracking their time on the giving portal; respond to general employee questions about the portal

      • Assist with organizing summer volunteer opportunities that engage HQ employees and promote volunteerism with local community partners

      • Collaborate with Human Resources to plan a service project for Campbell’s summer interns

      • Assist in creating dynamic content for communications weekly newsletter and Community Affairs workplace group

      • Collect and share local stories across our sites (for both internal and external sharing)

      • Maintain lists of Community Affairs employee contacts across the enterprise

      • Brainstorm and pitch ideas to support Employee Resource Groups, especially during “heritage months.”

      • Assist with grant administration and communications to grantees (sharing information about grant timing, reporting requirements, etc.)

      • Complete data entry to update grantee historical information

      • Assist with the creation of materials for Campbell’s Board meetings (e.g., grant summaries, budgets)

      • Analyze grantee final reports to pull stories and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data

      • Lead “Grants at work” series to share stories and impact internally on the company intranet site

      • Meet with grantees to learn about their work; attend community events with the team and represent Campbell as an ambassador for Community Affairs

      • Research and connect with community partners across the enterprise to identify evergreen volunteer opportunities

      • Assist with data collection and research projects related to volunteer service activities, grant administration, and signature programs

      • Help with end-of-fiscal-year metrics reporting
