      Job Summary

      Job Title: Community Involvement Intern

      Department: Community Involvement

      Hours: 20-30 per week

      Under the direction of the Community Involvement team, the Community Involvement Internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable event planning experience, build collaborative relationships with Festival Foods partners and grow leadership skills through tasks focusing on community engagement.

      You will be responsible for bringing the Festival Foods brand to life at exciting events across the state – and what better way than with a giant shopping cart! You will have the opportunity to connect with community members and organizations in unique ways, like driving in parades, giving Big Cart rides, providing fun photo opportunities and many other engaging activations!

      Job Description

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Coordinate on-site event set-up and execution including activations, social media, collaborating with community partners, coordinating event engagement pieces and building an onsite promotional plan

      Assist in transporting Big Cart to various events

      • Manage the condition of the company vehicles (Festival Foods Big Carts and Community Invovlement Vans) in accordance with safety protocols and best practices
      • Continously live Boomerang Basic #20- Be a Brand Ambassador
      • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
      • Other duties as assigned

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

      • Pursuing (junior or senior status) B.A. in the following preferable degree(s): public relations, communications, advertising, marketing, human services or related field
      • Pursuing (second year status) AA or AS in the following preferable degree(s): human services, marketing, business administration, human services or related field
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
      • Ability to manage one’s own time effectively in order to meet required deadlines

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

      • Sitting or standing 50% of the time
      • Must be comfortable operating the Festival Foods Big Cart
      • Occasional weekends and evenings required
      • Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required

      WORK SCHEDULE

      The Community Involvement Intern is an part-time, hourly position.
