Serve as the first point of contact for donor inquiries; ensure timely correspondence and personalized stewardship for excellence in donor engagement.
Honor donor intentions through effective communication with gift entry staff and staff directly engaging donors in resource and relationship development activities.
Implement donor stewardship efforts for annual fund donors by helping to create innovative programs to thank donors, increase engagement and promote a positive experience from first-gift to life-long donor.
Oversee gift acknowledgement process by crafting meaningful stewardship letters consistent with OFB messaging and branding, provide timely and accurate tax receipts, and help ensure the accuracy of reporting to donors.
Process donation receipts with batch mail merge out of Raiser’s Edge (RE NXT) ; print, process, apply postage (discounted nonprofit and regular postage rate), and distribute mail to USPS - including driving to and dropping off the nonprofit rate mail to USPS.
Support stewardship best-practices department-wide. Act as a resource to promote an integrated engagement experience across all donor segments.
In collaboration with the Individual Giving Team , define, execute, and grow the monthly giving program by focusing on stewardship and retention of monthly donors.
Collaborate with internal staff to market, produce and implement seasonal and segment-specific resource development and stewardship materials to enhance donor engagement and giving across multiple channels.
In concert with the Community Philanthropy Manager - Database & Systems, interpret and apply IRS tax guidelines for donation acceptance and receipting.
Serve as a back-up for mail opening, credit card processing or in-house gift packet preparation.
Assist with Lockbox gift entry as needed.

To be an ambassador and a leader for OFB’s vision and mission, a cross-departmental collaborator, and an active contributor to building a movement to end hunger for good by addressing the root causes of hunger: systemic oppressions such as racism, xenophobia, sexism, and cisexism.

Identify, share, engage in, and collaboratively adjust and make necessary changes to this description of duties according to the inevitable evolution of the role over time.
Deep passion for eliminating hunger and its root causes.
2 years working in donor relations in a development, fundraising, and/or a non-profit organization.
Familiarity with donor stewardship best practices, donor relations and annual giving programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with discretion and poise during donor, staff, and participant interactions.
Knowledge of and experience with Moves Management, Community-Centric Fundraising principles, Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement’s Body of Knowledge and Ethics Statement , and/or other philanthropic development concepts and methodology.
Proficiency with office technology and information systems (including GSuite, Microsoft Office), donor databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge), and/or Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency in Conditional Word Merge and merge to email systems such as Gmail. Ability to quickly adapt to new software and online tools is a plus!

As the Community Philanthropy Coordinator - Donor Relations , you will contribute to the organization’s success through meaningful donor engagement and implementation of stewardship programs that contribute to relationship development and resource mobilization goals and objectives of Oregon Food Bank and Community Philanthropy. This position reports to the Community Philanthropy Assistant Manager - Donor Relations. You will directly engage with supporters, respond to inquiries, and facilitate stewardship across multiple communications channels to educate, inform, and update donors on OFB’s strategic plans and programs. Ensuring an integrated and positive supporter experience for OFB donors will require your passion for donor relations, commitment to stewardship best practices, and dedication to transformational and regenerative relationship building with supporters – relying heavily on your ability to communicate with and engage a diverse audience.

Work environment:
Work is performed in an office environment while sitting in meetings or at a computer screen for extended periods inside and outside of Oregon Food Bank and will use computers and phones extensively.
May work outside of general working hours of 8:00 – 5:00 p.m., such as evenings and weekends, and occasional travel out of town may occur.
Work may require to lift, move and carry objects from 20 to 40 pounds, such as boxes containing office and other supplies. Crouching, bending, kneeling and reaching when filing. Accommodations may be available upon request.
