Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 6 Radiographers to join the Community Radiology Department on a 6 month contract. We are seeking a radiographer with sound radiographic experience, who will contribute positively and enthusiastically to the professional running and future development of the department and is keen to support the 7 day service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in the Community Radiology Department, providing support at Abingdon Community Hospital, working with the team to deliver a high standard of care. The post holder may also be required to rotate to the other Community Hospital sites at Bicester and Witney, as required
Abingdon Radiology department offers a 7 day a week X-Ray (plain film only) service for the Minor Injuries Unit, Hospital wards and as well as walk in service for GP and outpatient referrals.

To work as part of the imaging department team providing a comprehensive and effective diagnostic radiographic service, carrying out specific responsibilities commensurate with a senior grade.
To contribute to a working environment in which patients can obtain optimum care.
To undertake highly skilled clinical work in X-ray.To provide guidance, supervision and support and participate in the training of Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Student Radiographers and act as a mentor for newly qualified staff
To independently assess each patient and adapt radiographic techniques according to the needs of the patient.
To use professional discretion and experience to ensure that clinical practice is performed professionally and within the legal framework.
