We are a small, friendly team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Nurse, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants and a Team Administrator. We work as a team to provide rehabilitation to the over 18yr old population within North Dorset. There is one full time post available to support the team.

We are a hard working and dynamic team, that are committed to providing high quality care and rehabilitation to the residents within the Sherborne area through integrated and collaborative ways of working in conjunction with our colleagues within the Primary and Social Care sectors.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

      Main duties of the job

The Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team is a multi-disciplinary team offering therapy to a wide range of people within their home environments to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate earlier hospital discharge as well as in-reaching onto the wards. It is essential that you have experience of rehabilitation or a caring role, as well as having good verbal, written and team working skills.

This role is rotational, as such you will spend a period of time working on the rehab ward and in the Community. You will need to be flexible in your approach and confident to work alone. Basic IT skills and NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.

Responsibilities will require you to work mainly under supervision of the clinicians within the team, but also to work autonomously within your competencies. You will need to have the ability to drive a car as you will be required to visit patients in their own homes and other community settings.

In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we can provide an environment for you to develop your clinical skills and experience with regular supervision and appraisals. You will be supported through training to help achieve your competencies.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
