      The Community Resource Specialist is responsible for front office duties, finance and with the clinical teams to assist clients in obtaining benefits for which they may be eligible. This specialist MUST have a strong customer service, administrative and public relations aptitude and work well with community resources and systems.

      Please Note: the candidate MUST be available for the hours as this role indicates:

      • Monday & Tuesday: 10am-6pm
      • Wednesday & Thursday 11am-7pm
      • Friday 9am-5pm

      Duties/Responsibilities:

      • Coordinates and provides service and support to assigned clients, families, and caregivers to identify eligible insurance benefit gaps and connect with resources to meet those needs.
      • Acts as an advocate for the family in pursuing benefits for which they are eligible.
      • Ensures that clients receive proper up to date information regarding the benefits application process and all available resources to assist them in obtaining benefits in a timely manner.
      • Works with various entities outside of OhioGuidestone inclusive of: community resources, schools, probation officers, referral sources, and outpatient mental health providers to facilitate the benefits process.
      • Coordinates with the billing department regarding benefits assignments.
      • Maintains ongoing contact with clients (phone, email, meetings, and conferences) and/or with other internal and external professionals involved throughout the benefits application process.
      • Maintains accurate and timely documentation, as required.
      • Completes daily record keeping and copying of necessary information, dissemination to appropriate individuals within the agency and any outside agencies as required.
      • Coordinates with other agency departments, as needed, to assure that all necessary documents and information are obtained to support benefit acquisition.
      • Facilitates access to clinical care if necessary to address client needs that become urgent during the benefits application process.
      • Works as liaison between finance and clinical departments to share information about specific timelines and/or client supports needed to facilitate benefit acquisition.
      • Participates in training, supervisory staff meetings & program consultation as needed.
      • May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
      • In times of need, employee may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.
      • Achieve productivity goals as assigned.
      • Comply with all state and federal laws regarding protected health information.
      • Maintains regular and reliable attendance as required by OhioGuidestone.

      Administrative Duties but Not Limited to:

      • Immediately greet and check-in clients and/or visitors when they enter the agency in a manner that is helpful and friendly; direct clients and/or visitors accordingly.
      • Answer multi-line telephone system; triage and accurately distribute phone calls, faxes, mail and scanned documents.
      • Verify and update all client demographic and insurance information at each visit including scanning identification and insurance cards and attaching to the client EHR.
      • Collect payments from clients as appropriate and document to the client EHR.

      • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
      • Must have strong English reading, writing and verbal skills.
      • Work involves communication in various ways with staff, clients, students, participants, co-workers, and supervisors using all means of communication including but not limited to, in-person, phone, video-conferencing, and computer.
      • Requires typing and computer competency, including Microsoft Office Suite, basic database usage, spreadsheets, applications, and moderate levels of basic typing of notes and other paperwork.

      • Skilled in customer service and public relations as this role will interact with Agency’s partners on a daily basis.
      • Demonstrates positive leadership, promotes a team-based work environment and presents the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
      • Works flexible hours, which can include days, evenings, and weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients and the OhioGuidestone.

      Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma with prior customer service and benefit coordination experience required.
      • If not held at time of hire this employee may be required to obtain either a QMHS or CMS credentialing during employment.
      • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
      • Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.
      • Employment is contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
