      Overview

      Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Service Technician to work in the Compact Equipment Shop. Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company compact construction equipment and components. Depending on the location and assignment, the Technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule.

      Pay Rate: $35.04 - $45.97/hour based on location and experience. This is a union position.

      Responsibilities

      • Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.
      • Identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
      • Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
      • Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery.
      • Stay up-to-date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems.
      • Prepare accurate inspections and complete service reports.
      • Adhere to all established safety protocols and standards, utilizing appropriate PPE.
      • Be flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
      • Performs related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

      • Requires a certificate or associates degree in diesel technology or two years direct work experience.
      • Must be proficient in transmission, engines, hydraulics and electrical.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
      • Proficiency in the use of a computer.
      • The ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
      • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment with minimal supervision.
      • A tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
      • The ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
