      THE ROLE:

      Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? PETRONAS Canada is looking for a dynamic and driven Completions Engineer to join our thriving Drilling & Completions team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting directly to the Team Lead of Completions Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in managing pad completion design, planning, execution, and lookbacks. You will also actively contribute to various departmental engineering activities, projects, and initiatives, providing technical input, completing assignments, conducting detailed analyses, developing data models and evaluations, and overseeing assigned projects.

      HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

      • Develop complex and detailed completion objectives, plans, and programs/procedures to execute the work program. Provide input and technical expertise to ensure the planning and execution of programs are effective from a cost, quality and HSSE perspective
      • Identify opportunities to improve completion programs, procedures and processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance HSSE performance
      • Prepare cost estimates at the required level of accuracy; track and report completions costs during and immediately following operations
      • Lead engineering projects and initiatives while also providing technical guidance to internal stakeholders
      • Provide oversight and guidance to certain high priority Contractor representatives (frac, CT, etc.) during operations, including directly monitoring frac Contractor personnel who are calling frac’s, and in certain instances, directly calling frac’s remotely
      • Provide technical input to procurement initiatives, including scope of work, technical requirements, technical evaluation, and support commercial evaluation as applicable

      WHAT YOU BRING:

      • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
      • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a drilling, completions, workover and/or abandonment Engineering role
      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a completions engineering role
      • Must have proven work experience within unconventional resources and a thorough understanding of all aspects within managing an asset
      • Strong working knowledge in drilling and completions engineering software (Hydraulics, Cementing, Torque & Drag, CT Drag & Hydraulics, Directional Planning, Casing Design, etc.) and the ability to interpret results in an unbiased and technically competent manner
      • Field work experience and exposure is considered an asset
      • Excellent analytical and communications skills
      • Skilled at working in a highly collaborative manner with Operations Superintendents and Completions Supervisors
      • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once
      • Ability to work in a fast paced environment within cross functional teams and effectively engage others in support of projects and initiatives
