      Location: Weston Super Mare, Somerset Salary: £12.21 per hour Working Hours: Monday - Sunday sleeping nights 22.00 - 08.00am 2 shifts a week & 8.00am - 11.00am (Bank Position)

You’ll provide vital support, helping your clients live the life they choose, all while working within a supportive and compassionate team.       Your Role

Your responsibilities may vary from assisting clients with daily tasks, such as helping them get out of bed or accompanying them to medical appointments, to spending longer periods supporting them throughout their day. Whatever your assignment, your role will be to meet the specific and individual needs of the person in your care.

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Providing personal care tailored to the needs of the client.
      • Supporting clients with mental health challenges or behaviours that may be considered challenging.
      • Ensuring the client’s comfort, safety, and overall well-being throughout your shift.

      Building a connection with the people you care for is central to the role. You’ll need patience, empathy, and flexibility to connect with individuals on their level and provide the support they need. In addition, the physical aspect of care will be a part of your responsibilities, requiring stamina and attention to detail.

      What We Look For

      We are looking for individuals with:

      • A caring, compassionate, and patient approach to care.
      • Experience working with individuals with mental health and challenging behaviour.
      • experience in complex care desirable but can we train.
      • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with clients and their families.
      • Flexibility and a willingness to meet the individual needs of each client.
      • full driving licence with business insurance required to escort client if needed.

      If you have relevant experience, or are new to care, we will support you with the training you need. Whether you are assisting with personal care or providing emotional support, we’ll ensure you are fully equipped for the role.

      Support and Development

      • Access to both online and classroom training in specific complex care needs.
      • The opportunity to study for a relevant NVQ qualification.
      • Ongoing support from a Care Co-ordinator or Nurse Manager who will always be available to answer your questions.

      Depending on the client, you may work independently or as part of a team. You’ll also have the opportunity to support multiple clients, should you wish to do so and have the availability.

      Before you begin, you will meet your client and their family to ensure you understand their needs. You will also have continuous support throughout your journey as a Sonderwell carer.
