      Job Summary:

As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks, and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.

Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) is part of our Global Compliance organization. GFCC is comprised of the core functions (KYC, Sanctions, Risk Assessment, Investigations and Transaction Monitoring), business-aligned teams and regional teams.

This posting is for a Coverage Strategist position with the Coverage Strategy team, within GFCC, whose mandate it is to strategically design, develop, and maintain an efficient and effective AML transaction monitoring program. The program must be robust, sustainable, and able to adapt to a constantly evolving risk landscape.

You will work with sector, regional and core colleagues, as well as directly with Lines of Business (LOBs) to develop, refine and implement monitoring strategies to maximize the use of systematic and non-systematic sources of intelligence, assist the Data Management team in implementing new and modified files to support monitoring programs and support a firm-wide governance program (Global AML Monitoring Committee) to coordinate change management activities with LOBs and other Corporate functions.

As a Coverage Strategist you will analyze the AML risks for the firm’s products and banking clients and work to put in place coverage that is applicable to services offered. You will document the rationale for monitoring and support ongoing oversight processes. In this role, you will maintain close contact with LOB and Compliance stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the monitoring strategies required for local regulation. Within the Coverage Strategy team, you will organize deliverables, present and draft documentation for senior management discussions, exams and audits.

You should have strong communications skills; the ability to work independently yet collaboratively across the various lines of business and regions and be adaptable to change. Also, have expertise in Microsoft Excel with more advanced data/statistical applications being a plus. You should also have strong research and analytical/statistics skills to work in a big data environment, and be able to assess AML risk across different attributes (e.g., transactional, geographical, product, customer type), determine appropriate AML transaction monitoring opportunities and mold into understandable strategies. Ideally you will have experience in developing technical requirements for implementation solutions with technology groups.

      Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

      • Understand the Firm’s high-level products and customers and how they transact
      • Identify and develop solutions to capitalize upon monitoring opportunities; work with Compliance Technology to identify requirements that support the implementation of monitoring strategies
      • Communicate monitoring strategy to senior stakeholders; communicate deliverables and requirements in a clear and concise manner
      • Support the development of monitoring strategies at all stages; possess strong research and analytical/statistics skills
      • Analyze data and determine a course of action with stakeholders from Compliance Technology & Analytics; Prepare metrics and charts and presentations when needed to explain the AML Transaction Monitoring Program
      • Support project plans and deliverables often tied to regulatory commitments; participate in the development of goals and execution of strategies within the function or department
      • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or more advanced data/statistical applications.
      • Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment; ability to thrive in a global operating environment and a matrix management organization
      • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure; self-starter, capable of working under minimum supervision
      • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

      Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

      • 3 – 5 years prior AML/KYC experience preferred
      • Proven experience operating under a strict regulatory environment, preferably in a large financial institution
      • Knowledge of firm’s products and banking clients preferred
      • Additional language skills in Spanish and Portuguese a plus
